Inspect and maintain PPE, portable fire equipment and general fire equipment to ensure compliance and serviceability as required by Ford Fire Bulletins.
Contractor management with regards issuing hotwork and confined space permits and site inspection to prevent fires.
Test air quality and declare confined areas safe for workers to enter.
Inspect dangerous goods transport trucks shipping manifests and escort such trucks on site for safe off loading of goods, ensure hazmat regulations are complied with and do chemical spill clean-ups when required.
Participate in evacuation drills to ensure workforce is prepared for emergency situations.
Respond to fire and medical emergencies.
Facilitate fire and security related training courses ensuring that Emergency Response Teams are capable of handling site emergencies.
Liaise with internal stakeholders.
Grade 12
Fire Fighter 1 & 2 (NFPA 1001) - 2+ years
Hazardous Materials for First Responders - Awareness or Operational Level (NFPA 472) - 2+ years
Basic Life Support (BLS) With valid HPCSA registration
Ambulance Emergency Assistant with valid HPCSA registration will be added as an advantage
Work experience in either the fire or medical disciplines - +2 years
Code EB drivers license.
Three years industrial experience will be added as an advantage
