We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Workshop Manager / Buyer to join our dynamic team.

Please note, only candidates with experience and exposure to a heavy vehicle and earth moving equipment with relevant workshop management experience to apply.



Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership & Management:



Supervising and mentoring a team of Mechanics, Auto electricians and support staff. Assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance. Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Addressing any operational or personnel issues.

Workshop Operations:



Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop. Ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs, breakdowns and call outs to site equipment failure. Managing resource allocation (manpower, equipment, etc.). Maintaining equipment and ensuring it's in good working order. Implementing preventative maintenance schedules. Managing inventory of spare parts and materials.

Safety & Quality:



Enforcing safety protocols and procedures. Conducting regular safety training for staff. Implementing and enforcing quality control measures. Addressing and resolving any quality issues promptly.

Budget & Financial Management:



Managing the workshop budget for repairs, maintenance, and supplies. Controlling costs and identifying potential cost-saving measures. Working with the finance department on budget matters.

Qualifications:



Qualified diesel mechanic

with a recognized trade test

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems common in road construction equipment, trucks and site vehicles.

Leadership & Management Skills:

Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Safety Awareness:

Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Experience:

minimum 10 years Extensive experience in a mechanical workshop, preferably within the roads construction industry.

Budget Management:

Experience in managing budgets and controlling costs
