Job Description


As a Logistics Coordinator in our civil engineering contracting firm's workshop, you'll be at the core of our operations. Your role involves providing crucial administrative support, managing drivers, coordinating their movements, and overseeing truck operations. You'll streamline processes, ensure compliance, and optimise schedules to maintain efficiency and safety.Duties and responsibilities includeFleet and Driver managementxc2xb7 organise truck and driver documentation and daily schedules.xc2xb7 supervise and manage a team of drivers, addressing concerns and coordinating movements.xc2xb7 handle driver timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.xc2xb7 act as a point of contact for driver inquiries and issues.xc2xb7 manage attendance records, daily hours, and truck kilometres.xc2xb7 allocate jobs for sites and track product collection to/from various suppliersxc2xb7 reconcile fuel slips for trucks and conduct monthly audits.xc2xb7 assist with staff administration including employment contracts and medicals.Scheduling and coordinationxc2xb7 collaborate with the workshop foreman to schedule maintenance tasks for trucks.xc2xb7 resolve scheduling conflicts promptly and efficiently.Logistics managementxc2xb7 coordinate truck logistics, order collections, and deliveries.xc2xb7 ensure timely delivery of orders and supplies to sites.Costing system updatesxc2xb7 update costing system with accurate data on income, repairs, and costs.xc2xb7 ensure cost data is current and reliable.Customer servicexc2xb7 act as a point of contact for truck drivers and internal stakeholders.xc2xb7 address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.xc2xb7 provide updates on truck availability and status.Safety and compliancexc2xb7 ensure drivers adhere to safety procedures and protocols.xc2xb7 maintain compliance with truck regulations and standards.Documentation and reportingxc2xb7 maintain accurate records of income and costs.xc2xb7 generate reports on income, fuel usage, and driver wages.xc2xb7 prepare and update reports on truck costs and fuel usage.Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Competenciesxc2xb7 Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in logisticsxc2xb7 Minimum 3 5 years experience working in a logisticsxc2xb7 Experience in Construction will be highly advantageousxc2xb7 Computer literate - Word, Excelxc2xb7 Must live in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Townxc2xb7 Attention to detailxc2xb7 Organisational skillsxc2xb7 Good time managementxc2xb7 Customer service & communication skillsxc2xb7 Adaptability, team player, excellent interpersonal skills, people management.
