Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a Workplace IT Technician
Purpose of the role
To provide first and second level IT workplace support services on a campus to students and employees (hardware / telecommunication / classroom technology support / servers / mobile support / printing)
Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a tertiary IT qualification at NQF-6 level (e.g. National Diploma or Advanced Certificate); plus
  • A and N certification
  • ITIL Foundation certification is highly desirable
  • Project Management certification is highly desirable
Duties and Responsibilities
As the Workplace IT Technician you will be responsible for :
Technical Support
  • Provide 1st level technical support to end-users
  • Build, configure, install and maintain both standard and non-standard hardware and software
  • Desktop / laptop
  • Mobile devices
  • Server - 1st level
  • MAC platform
Incident Management
  • Log and track all incidents and service requests in the IT Service Management system
  • Prioritise and manage multiple open cases simultaneously
  • Ensure timely resolution of incidents in accordance with relevant service level agreements (SLAs)
Workplace Support
  • Perform project responsibilities as and when required e.g. roll-out of new software and hardware technologies
  • User training
  • Manage the service delivery of outsourced technology partners
  • Office-move assistance (on and between campuses)
  • Maintain active directory for students and employees (account management)
  • Ensure system and data security on devices (mobile) - device encryption
