Work Experience Programme
at our Newcastle operations. This opportunity is open to students who require practical workplace exposure to complete their qualifications in the following fields:
Diesel Mechanics
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Fitting
Boilermaking
The programme is designed to provide hands-on, structured workplace experience in a mining environment, contributing to the professional development of aspiring artisans and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist qualified artisans in daily maintenance and repair tasks
Participate in preventative and corrective maintenance activities
Perform routine inspections and report equipment performance
Learn and apply relevant health and safety standards
Support with mechanical or electrical installations, fabrication, or diagnostics
Maintain tools and equipment used in the trade
Key Requirements:
N6 Certificate or completed S4/National Diploma in the relevant field
Must require
P1/P2
or in-service training to complete the qualification
Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions
A passion for mining and engineering-related work environments
