Job Summary Our client, a well established Wine Estate in Stellenbosch is recruiting a Wine Sales Executive to take on full responsibilities to promote the wineries brand within the marketplace and to improve brand recognition and brand equity. The successful candidate will work at all levels of the distribution chain, including retail, distribution and consumer level. This estate is a proudly South African operated business and solely owned by the family based in the country. This position is also unique in that this is a "start-up" opportunity, taking over from the PR, Sales & Marketing Company who has been contracted to promote the brand for a number of years. This Wine Estate is excited to be able to take full ownership of the Sales & Marketing initiative and relationship with all key players in the market. The wine sales executive will be involved in the planning of sales and marketing strategies and responsible for all aspects of wine marketing, promotions, branding and wine events This position is ideally suited to someone who is highly passionate about wine and excited about establishing key relationships in the industry. The candidate must be highly organised, experienced and well connected in the wine, hospitality and retail markets. Key Responsibilities include: Develop and implement sales strategies Update clients on new product launches Create an annual sales plan Identify new clients for the wineries products Conduct staff training programs Organise wine deliveries for special events Analyse market trends and identify opportunities Develop and implement marketing strategies Conduct special events for the winery Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure an adequate supply of wine Be the face of the company at trade events Key skills Strong organisational and planning skills Sales skills and the ability to influence people A people person who can build strong relationships with people in the industry Good at leading a team and working within a team Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal Good computer skills Analytical skills and ability to translate complex sales reports into meaningful business knowledge Passionate and knowledgeable about wine Qualifications and Experience: Diploma / Degree relating to Sales and Marketing / Management. Minimum 2-3 years on & off consumption sales consulting experience. Minimum 5 years sales management experience within the liquor industry.
