About Our Client
Our client is a prestigious 5-star luxury private game reserve located in Kimberley, renowned for its high standards of conservation, wildlife management, and guest experience. The reserve is committed to ethical wildlife practices, ecological rehabilitation, and delivering an exceptional luxury safari environment. They are now seeking a dedicated and skilled Wildlife Coordinator to join their conservation team.
Role Overview
The Wildlife Coordinator will support the reserves conservation strategy, wildlife monitoring programmes, and long-term ecological goals. This is a hands-on field-based position requiring strong wildlife knowledge, data management ability, and the capacity to coordinate conservation initiatives in a dynamic reserve environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct wildlife monitoring, biodiversity assessments, and population tracking activities.
Support re-wilding processes, animal habituation, and all responsible wildlife management practices.
Assist with implementing conservation strategies, environmental sustainability initiatives, and awareness programmes.
Collect, manage, and analyse conservation data; prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to ecosystem health monitoring, habitat restoration, and ecological rehabilitation.
Work closely with anti-poaching teams, ecological consultants, and reserve management.
Supervise, train, and support conservation staff to ensure professional and high-quality fieldwork.
Carry out general reserve duties and operational tasks as required.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Conservation, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
FGASA qualification (advantageous).
Experience
Proven experience in wildlife conservation, game reserve management, or related wildlife operations.
Experience in wildlife breeding programmes and/or hunting-conservation environments.
Telemetry, tracking, and wildlife monitoring technology experience (advantageous).
Strong understanding of dangerous game behaviour and safe wildlife practices.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Solid maintenance knowledge relevant to reserve operations.
High level of physical fitness and resilience in remote outdoor environments.
Strong analytical thinking with a scientific approach to wildlife management.
Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate field staff.
Genuine passion for conservation and ecological sustainability.
Must have the right to work in South Africa
