Job Description
Key outputs
Using appropriate welding techniques and tooling to maintain and repair earthmoving equipment and components to OEM standards and customer requirements
Do cutting and profile cutting with oxy-acetylene cutting process
Remove portions of components (i.e. remove adaptor from cutting edge) with air-arc gouging process
Provide sound welds in gas-metal arc (CO2) and shield metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G positions
Assemble components such as Shipping Stands, Frames covers dimensionally correct as per OEM drawings
Use correct tooling to repair broken and bent components
Effective self-management and performance ownership
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Grade 12
Qualified in relevant trade (Boilermaker)
Minimum 2 years work experience after qualification (Post apprenticeship)
Medically fit for the position
Drivers licence - Code B
Spatial visualisation (linked to assembling)
Mechanical ability
Hand-eye coordination (Aiming)
