Job Advert Summary

To ensure that allocated plant is kept in a safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water.

Minimum Requirements

o Grade 12 / N3 or related NQF Level 4 o trade test Certificate o 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience o A valid driver's licence and ability to pass Rand Water's K53 test.

Primary Duties

Perform scheduled maintenance tasks Investigate and repair all breakdowns to work overtime when is required. Maintaining of work standards and ensuring legal safety compliance Execute plant improvements and modification Perform standby duties when required Assist head office personnel and contractors for all work done to do their job effectively and safely Conduct on the job training to new personnel, assistants and apprentices. Complete all schedules, work instructions timesheet and defects. Do performance testing on equipment after overhauling and big maintenance Attend SHE Visits Perform regular inspection Assist with commission of new plant Reporting of sub-standard work or equipment Partake in formal RCM Program and RCA sessions Partake in shutdown planning Investigate and compile non-compliance reports

Knowledge

o Operation of field mechanical equipment o Water purification and treatment process o Reliability cantered maintenance o Knowledge of OHSA Act and its application o Safety procedures

Skills

o Communication skills (verbal and written) o Administrative skills o Analytical skills to do fault finding and problem solving o Reliability centred maintenance o Root cause analysis
