Introduction:
Our client is a highly experienced digital marketing agency trusted by hundreds of clients in Shetland, Orkney and throughout the UK. Although they are perhaps best known for their website development and digital marketing work, they have grown in recent years to offer a broader range of strategic, branding and content services. Based in Lerwick, they are proud to have helped many local businesses to thrive, and also to export their own services to notable clients all over the country.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic web developer to join their busy team. With a large and diverse base of existing and potential clients, you'll work across many sectors, including destination marketing, food and drink, retail, professional services, and energy.
Their head office is in Lerwick, Shetland, but their clients are based across Scotland and the wider UK. They will be happy to consider candidates from anywhere, provided they have the relevant experience.
Key Deliverables:
As a web developer in a small but in-demand agency, you will work across a broad range of areas, helping to support and develop the existing processes and infrastructure used to deliver their services to clients.
You will apply your skills in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects simultaneously. As part of the development team, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of technical solutions for clients, and for the agency itself. Key activities include website development (mainly using ProcessWire CMS), ecommerce website development (using Shopify), maintenance of existing web assets (on multiple CMS platforms), server and IT checks, and asset optimisation. You will also contribute to internal process improvement.
Candidates should have a background in web development and a proven track record in developing projects to a high standard.
Through time and experience, your skills in all areas will progress, and your knowledge will deepen through a combination of self-directed research and collaborative working. Your role, while providing additional resilience to the agency as it expands, will contribute to increasingly efficient delivery to clients, ensuring profitability and quality results that set them apart from competitors.
As part of the role, you may be involved in projects relating to the Promote Shetland destination marketing service, which our client currently delivers on behalf of the Shetland Islands Council. This includes running multi-channel marketing campaigns--along with branding, PR and other activities--to help showcase Shetland as an attractive place to visit, live, work, study and invest. You may be tasked with assisting the extended Promote Shetland team to ensure projects and campaigns are delivered on schedule and on budget.
