JOB PURPOSEThe Plant is seeking an experienced and analytical Water Treatment Specialist/Metallurgist to oversee and optimise metallurgical processes within the plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring plant performance, improving recovery and product quality, and supporting production goals in line with operational targets.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and manage all aspects of water treatment systems including clarification, filtration, and chemical (flocculent) dosing.
• Optimize water usage and recycling within the beneficiation process to reduce environmental impact and operational cost.
• Assist in the design and implementation of process control systems.
• Conduct metallurgical test work related to chromite ore concentration and recovery.
• Analyse plant performance data and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Collaborate with plant and production teams to align metallurgical inputs with operational objectives.
• Oversee sampling and laboratory testing processes and ensure accuracy of results.
• Prepare technical reports and contribute to operational planning.
• Manage final product exports from stockpile blending to loadout.
• Support SHEQ and safety compliance across all metallurgical activities.

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3xe2x80x935 years of experience in mineral processing or water treatment, ideally in chromite or similar ores.
• Solid understanding of beneficiation techniques (gravity separation, flotation, etc.) and water treatment technologies.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of solid-liquid separation and related technologies.
• Familiarity with belt filter press technology is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and metallurgical reporting.
• Good understanding of SHEQ compliance and MHSA.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
