JOB DESCRIPTION


Based in the Warehouse at the Sherwin-Willams site in Durban, KZN, this team leader role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for a team of material handlers in the Staging section. This is a working team leader role.



This position co-ordinates activities related to the staging process onsite. Responsibilities may include overseeing and optimizing raw material flow within the warehouse through to production areas. This involves managing inventory's storage, quantities and shelf-life control, tracking progress of pre-weighing, staging, and ensuring efficient workflows, all while promoting continuous improvement and team collaboration. Responsibilities include leading a small team and ensuring all system transactions are completed timeously.



RESPONSIBILITIES


Duty to perform functions of:

handling, storage, moving, physical safe-keeping, protection from the elements, rotation of inventory issuing of materials to production via a kanban system of delivery return raw materials to correct locations once production is completed receiving of intermediate and finished product from production transfer of expired/redundant inventory to appropriate separate locations Conduct and drive stock cycle counts

Ensure:

compliance with all relevant QSHE, ISO and NOSA procedures and standards good inventory practice e.g. FIFO, parts kept with same-product wholes, same-product in same location high standard of physical safe-keeping and protection from damage, theft, loss etc of all inventory redundant/expired material quickly identified, re-labelled, physically moved to a clearly demarcated area accurate, complete and timely recording of all inventory transactions (real time transactions) high standard of housekeeping (6S) in all inventory locations under own control proper use and safe-keeping of all inventory measurement and recording electronic devices safe and careful operating and safe-keeping of all forklift and reach trucks under direct control control of all packaging on site maintained control of bulk raw materials on site maintained Staging team adhere to all processes & suggest refresher training for team to Supervisor if necessary Able to investigate root causes and suggested possible solutions for deviations Complete RM allocations and book in stock from production Physical 4 eye check after all RM has been fully stage & change the status to WIP in the system before the batch card is released to factory. Understanding the concept of supplying production lines Control of part pack stock and work with Planner to be added to next batch High standard of housekeeping (5S's) in all locations


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:




Inventory / Warehousing qualification required


Valid forklift and reach truck license essential


Certified in relevant hazardous material handling procedures

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:




5 years of Warehouse team lead/supervision with experience in Warehousing, RM pre-weigh and Inventory management.
