3-month Contract, Senior Warehouse Supervisor R15,000 to R18,000 p/m

With branches in Durban and Cape Town, A5 Group Holdings is a retail chain, providing a wide range of products to our various stores. A5 Group Holdings is looking for a committed, suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Warehouse Supervisor, the successful candidate will be based in our Epping Warehouse, Cape Town.

The requirements are as follows:

Grade 12. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook). Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good numeric and literacy skills. Minimum of 3 years Warehouse supervision / stock controlling experience is essential. Minimum of 3 years staff supervision experience. Must have operational and business administration skills. Must have organizational, planning and office management skills. Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines. Ability to lead and manage a team. Must be customer and service oriented. Must be able to solve problems independently.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Assisting in the overall running of the Warehouse. Opening and closing of the warehouse. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in and around the warehouse. Receiving and processing returned stock. Responsible for accurate dispatching and receiving stock. Conducting cycle counts and Stock Take. Responsible for stock control and stock transfers. Responsible for checking and packing of orders correctly. Monitoring and controlling the running of the distribution process. Generating Standard Operating Procedures for the Warehouse. Scheduling delivery of orders. Ensuring Health and Safety regulations.

People Supervision:

Ensure an enabling climate/culture. Supervise the team to achieve work unit objectives. Plan allocation of labour within area of responsibility. Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels. Ensure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)

Warehouse Management System:

Monitor and control current warehouse management systems. Control daily operations from a systems perspective and highlight / resolve any anomalies immediately.

Inventory:

Daily movement of inventory must be controlled and verified. Weekly cycle counts and feedback. Manage monthly inventory counts and report on results.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process/systems improvements.

Policies and Procedures:

Ensure implementation and compliance of Logistics Policies and Procedures. Operate according to standard operating procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation.
