Job Description

The responsibilities for the position would be focused on the supervision of and control over the work activities on a shift under his supervision. It will include the following:

Supervising daily work flow and ensuring that all required daily activities are completed
Handling Stock control including Daily Cycle Counts and Stock Takes
Completion of Daily, Weekly & Monthly Reports
Overseeing the maintenance and utilisation of Forklift whilst on shift
Controlling and managing all warehouse and distribution in relation to his shift responsibilities
Ensuring accurate receiving, picking, checking and dispatching of inventory
Supervising daily activities of reporting staff including handling the disciplining and development of staff
Handling investigations and resolving work problems
Maintaining Warehouse Management controls daily
Implementing and Managing Health and Safety processes and procedures; and
Completing of ad hoc duties as required by the Manager

To be considered for the position you will have to meet the following criteria:

A suitable qualification together with at least 3 years proven experience in a warehousing team leader or supervisory position
Proven experience with and exposure to automated warehouse management systems
English literacy of at least Grade 12 level and the ability to write speak and understand English
Computer literacy in the MS office suite with the ability to compile, mail and consolidate documents
Knowledge of Syspro would be advantageous
Proven ability in overseeing day-to-day production activities in a unionized workplace
A sound understanding of Finances and its impact on the operation specifically in the warehouse
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully delegate responsibilities where appropriate
A passion for quality and delivery on time
Excellent attention to detail
Proven ability in maintaining high levels of accuracy when under pressure
The ability to work according to strict deadlines on continuous basis
Good conflict handling skills
Must be able to handle work pressure
Understand warehouse and inventory management
Have a methodical approach to their work
Be able to work shifts based on the operational demands
Must be able to approach conflict and motivate staff
Maintain a high professional work ethic at all times
Have a drivers license and a reliable car
