The purpose of the Warehouse Operative is to assist with a wide range of tasks in and around the Warehouse, including but not limited to receiving, dispatch, stock counts and hygiene.
Responsibilities
--------------------
Receiving
Receiving all stock via the Qwix system
Ensure all stock coming in has the correct pallet ID
All inbound inspections (Packaging material & customer returns)
Physical inspections, taking of samples for lab, and capturing on the Qwix system
Finalizing admin tasks and scanning
Retrieving samples
Samples must be taken of all stock received, bulk oil in flow bins and packaging material, and taken to the lab
Put-away functions
Placing of stock in correct bin allocations, when received from bottling or with inbound - adhering to Qwix instructions on scanners
Picking
Picking of stock according to the Qwix system - instruction on scanners
Picking of stock from load sheets if Qwix system is offline
Picking stock to replenish Bottling daily
Issuing and transfers
Transferring and issuing of stock, consumables, and chemicals to bottling and other departments - according to the QWIX scanning system and requisitions
Stock take
Doing stock takes and cycle counts as communicated
Rework
Rework of damaged or QC rejected stock
Housekeeping
Ensuring all housekeeping is done, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis according to schedule
Compliance policies and procedures
Ensuring that you understand all policies and procedures that is applicable to your department
Health and Safety
Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Attend safety education and refresher programmes
Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
Distribute safety information as and when required
Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
Requirements
----------------
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
Grade 12 / Matric certificate (non-negotiable)
Valid forklift license (non-negotiable)
Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a warehouse environment (non-negotiable)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QWIX
SAP system knowledge will be considered an advantage
Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans
Proven experience in receiving processes
Hands-on experience with both inbound and outbound logistics
Prior exposure to a factory or manufacturing environment will be beneficial
