An established company in Cape Town is seeking for an
EXPERIENCED WAREHOUSE MANAGER
to supervise optimal receiving and dispatching of goods, manage storage of goods in warehouse, manage warehouse and decanting staff and ensure safe work environment. This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. The ideal candidate must be exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time. Must also achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate orders, and track shipping times, ultimately overseeing the fulfillment of millions of product orders.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Dispatch
Manage Receiving Department,
Ensure goods are checked and warehoused according to work plan,
Ensure GRN's and additional transport cost is captured accurately,
Ensure bulk goods are warehoused according to standard operating procedures,
2. Receiving
Manage Receiving Department,
Ensure products are dispatched according to standard operating procedures
,
3. Repacking
Manage Decanting Department,
Plan work schedule in collaboration with Supply Chain Manager
Ensure products are decanted and repacked according to standard operating procedures,
4. Stock management
Work closely with Supply Chain Manager on optimizing minimum and maximum stock qty's,
5. Inventory management
Monthly stock take, and variance reporting, investigating and resolving discrepancies,
Manage cross-departmental stock issues, investigating and resolving discrepancies,
Quality Control of products and delivery thereof to customers identifying any defects,
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage warehouse and decanting staff, verbal warnings and first written warnings for minor offences
Ensure productivity levels are kept high
Ensure warehouse staff are trained and use correct PPE,
Ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld at all times,
Ensure security and safety of stock at all times
Overall cleanliness of the Warehouse and surroundings
Ad hoc duties as per request from Management from time to time
Objectives of this Role
Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping.
Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Supervise daily activities of the warehouse and decanting, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
Schedule and oversee warehouse and decanting team to meet the demands and manage the flow and quality of work
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed
Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages
Skills and Qualifications
BCom Degree in Warehouse management,
inventory control
3+ years experience in a warehouse lead role managing hourly employees
Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
Ability to work with all levels of company staff
Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
Bilingual (Afrikaans/English)
Proficiency with office, outlook -
pastel will be an advantage
