It is our mission to further the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.Warehouse Manager(Permanent position)Oxford University Press is recruiting for a dynamic Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse team and lead on operations.The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the development of the warehouse operation strategy, as it translates into the organisation operational plans so as to fulfil customer expectations and requirements in a timely, cost effective and safe manner, whilst ensuring compliance with OUP policy and relevant legislation.The Warehouse Manager will report to the Director of Customer Services and Supply Chain.This post is based at our Epping Warehouse in Cape Town.Principal Accountabilities:Warehouse effectively receives, stores and dispatches stock: Develop an overall Warehouse strategy and annual plan for OUPSA warehouse. Manage, lead and develop the warehouse supervisory team to implement the annual Warehouse plan. Develop Warehouse processes in line with industry best practices.Warehouse resources managed: Manage warehouse facilities and supplier services. Conduct resource planning and deployment. Manage the mail room and encourage a health and safety behavioural culture within the warehouse team.Productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders maintained: Collaborate with customer services, manufacturing, sales, and build relationships with customers through annual visits and other communications.Manage budget effectively: Forecast annual operational expenses in line with guidelines, manage costs against approved budget, develop and manage cost, forecast annual operational expenses.Recruit and develop staff and manage performance: Evaluate structure and resourcing levels and recruit talented employees, identify training needs and implement development plans, manage performance, discipline and employee relations.Qualifications and Experience:Certificate in Logistics Management or equivalent anything equivalentMinimum of 6 years senior warehouse management experienceStock management experienceReceiving and dispatch knowledgeSAP advantageousShipping (dispatch) distribution process experienceBudget controlProject managementReceiving and order fulfilmentMS office packageAttributes:Strong action and results-driven leaderShows resilience and commitmentProblem solverStrategic thinkerComfortable with ambiguity and resilientAbility to develop and build strong teamsHighly organised multi-taskerInnovative and creative thinkerEffective communicator with high emotional intelligenceFacilitate change successfullyPromote healthy organisational cultureOUP offers the following:Remuneration commensurate with experiencePension and medical aid benefitsStatutory leaveTraining opportunitiesEngaging work in a rewarding and ethical environment.Oxford University Press, an equal opportunity employer, seeks a talented individual to fill this post based at Epping warehouse.
