Job Description


The primary task will be to assume responsibility for Warehouse/Logistics/Planning//Raw Materials activities on site, and to lead the Warehouse team to deliver excellent Customer Service, inbound and outbound logistics targets and production planning to move the operation into the world class manufacturing arena. The output to be delivered is Customer Service on time and in full whilst ensuring EHS rules and regulations are followed within budget constraints

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
  • FI Practioner (if internal)/VAK experience (if internal)
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in a Warehousing/Logistics Environment
  • At least 3 years' Management/ supervisory experience within a Warehousing/Logistics Environment
  • Awareness of ISO international standards and systems
  • Proactive Management Activities (TPM, TQM, WCM, 5S, AM)
  • Budgeting and cost management skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • WCM/Lean/JIT knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills
  • Innovation and adaptability
  • Ability to meet deadlines and reach objectives
  • Excellent MS Office tool-set competence

Additional Requirements
  • Ensure efficient operation of both the Finished goods, Local and Imported merchandise and Raw Materials warehouse.
  • Ensure that high degree of customer service is maintained, through speed, accuracy and quality of the loading function.
  • Ensuring all SAP and admin related functions are timeously done
  • Stock takes and cycle counts as required by the Business
  • Ensure ICRF Business Governance rules are adhered to
  • Ensure that the department obey general Factory regulations
  • Ensure that the department obey company EHS regulations and observe safety precautions as laid down in the applicable legislation.
  • Ensure Raw Materials are off loaded and stored according to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ensure Service Failures are prevented by using the SFA management system
  • Ensure adherence to ISO management and best practices
  • Daily planning and co-ordinates Transport requirements.
  • Control of dispatch and production forklift operations in accordance with applicable works instructions.
  • Management of both the Finished goods, Local and imported merchandise and Raw Material Warehouse
  • Timeously informing the Plant Manager of problems being experienced especially risks to customer service or supply chain delays
  • Constantly investigating and striving to find methods of improving customer service and warehouse operating efficiencies
  • Ensure that Streamline processes are adhered to and in control
  • Ensure adherence to Streamline 5S processes
  • Control of capital equipment and proper utilisation of equipment under their control
  • Responsible for inter company stock replenishments
  • Ensure Credit control processes and procedures are adhered to and governed
  • Ensure inventory control processes are adhered to and is inline with Streamline/Business Requirements
  • Liaising with Sales on all make to order items for timely delivery and correct specifications.
  • Ensure stock is booked in on time and all stock control procedures are adhered to for Finished Goods and Raw Materials
  • Review forecast accuracy and provide input into central supply chain
  • Ensure Stock Record Accuracy processes and targets are met
  • Ensure Truck turnaround times are met and optimised
  • Ensure Yard control of pallets, Bangalala's and other Raw Materials used in the process. 5S processes and inventory best practices as well as storage best practices to be followed
  • Ensure Raw material call - offs are completed on time in full
  • Ensure Raw Material losses on the Warehouse side is investigated via the Quick Kaizen process and prevented for the future
Who are we ?
  • Ensure all blocked stock reports are send and followed up on. Ensure business targets are met to reduce blocked stock values
  • Ensure scrapping processes are followed as per Business procedures
  • Ensure minimisation of waste of dry waste occurs so as not to impact Plant Net Saleable Yield numbers
  • Drawing up of annual Warehouse budget
  • Budget and cost control for the Warehouse
  • Control transport costs as well as labour, overtime and other Fixed and Variable costs
  • Compiling monthly and periodic reports as required
  • Ensure forklift truck maintenance concerns are raised and followed up with Engineering to prevent delays
  • Defining and communication of WCM best practice, tools and techniques and developing external contacts.
  • Development of internal and external benchmarking in manufacturing and supply chain. Analyse and have input into Benchmarking reports
  • Implementation of manufacturing projects as per the Annual plan and losses are stratified as per cost deployment and areas of opportunity identified into tangible WCM savings
  • Ensure absenteeism and all overtime work is minimised
  • Ensure a two week rolling plan is provided to the plant, broken into weekly buckets for easy goal setting and shop floor planning and control.
  • Analyse MRP system and actual stock and provide for flexibility in the production schedule as and when required.
  • Track all failed movements of components and correct them to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Liaising with different departments to ensure efficient flow of production e.g. Maintenance, Warehouse, Procurement, Quality control
  • Be the link between sales and production, providing information dates, available capacity, raw materials and lead-time to various products.
  • Have input into Long Range Capex Planning for the department
  • Ensure employees are managed in terms of performance, OOO and PDR processes are adhered to
  • Ensure training plans are setup, as well as cover matrixes, career and development paths are in place
  • Ensure all IR cases are managed in accordance with company IR/code of conduct processes
  • Ensure succession plans are in place for all levels
  • Ensure SOP and OPL management processes and procedures are in place
  • Ensure the Customer Focus WCM Pillar is alive and objectives managed
  • Perform other tasks as specified by the Plant Manager
