Job Summary

Role Description: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse, encompassing staffing, health and safety, and cost management. The role requires effective leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations.

Key Performance Responsibilities:

Warehouse Management & Administration:

• Oversee the overall performance of the warehouse.
• Ensure stock accuracy through regular stock counts and adherence to warehouse processes.
• Implement accurate warehouse space planning (planogram).
• Maintain Materials Handling Equipment in good working order and ensure fuel availability.

Health & Safety:

• Ensure warehouse compliance with health and safety standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and address issues promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date Health & Safety files and electronic systems.

Warehouse Cost Control:

• Monitor and control all warehouse-related costs.
• Manage expenses such as waste bins, overtime, casual labor, maintenance, and professional inspections.

Housekeeping:

• Maintain a clean and debris-free warehouse environment.
• Coordinate waste disposal and skit swap outs within prearranged cost parameters.
• Ensure correct labeling of racking and maintain all equipment in good working order.

Staff Management:

• Ensure the warehouse is fully staffed according to the approved organizational structure.
• Conduct continuous training for warehouse staff.
• Implement staff performance management and reviews.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma and/or tertiary qualification in material management, inventory, commodity procurement, or related equivalent.
• Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, stock control, or supply chain.
