Intercare Irene Sub-Acute Hospital situated in Centurion, is recruiting for an experienced Ward Secretary. The focus of this position is to provide assistance to nursing staff to maintain the smooth running of wards by performing a range of administrative and customer service tasks.
CRITICAL OUTPUTS

• Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver prompt and efficient responses to patients / customers.
• Communicate effectively and promote a supportive team approach within to ensure good working relationships.
• Provide organisational support of patient movement and the delivery of care as directed by the patient care teams.
• Answer all phone calls and assist as in the reception area when required.
• Escalate any areas of concern to appropriate line manager where required.
• Assist with the completion of admission documentation.
• Maintain clinical files in accordance with relevant policies and legislation, including admission and discharge of patients.
• Develop and implement administrative initiatives that are cost effective.
• Reporting of faulty equipment and system problems to the relevant department (i.e: IT department, maintenance).

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric / Grade 12
• Office Administration qualification is advantageous
• At least 2 years administration experience in a medical facility
• AS400 System experience advantageous
• Understanding of medical schemes and admission processes
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office 365 and have good typing skills.
• Billing and stock take experience preferable
