Key Responsibilities
Service Excellence and Guest Experience
Provide attentive, friendly, and professional service to guests from greeting to farewell.
Accurately take food and beverage orders and ensure timely, correct delivery.
Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently explain menu items, specials, and recommendations.
Anticipate guest needs and create a welcoming, high-energy dining experience.
Order Accuracy and Quality Control
Ensure all orders are captured correctly and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar.
Check food and drinks for quality, presentation, and accuracy before serving.
Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve minor concerns promptly, escalating when needed.
Upselling and Revenue Support
Promote daily specials, signature items, and premium beverage options.
Apply suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase average spend.
Maintain awareness of promotions and events to encourage guest participation and repeat visits.
Table Management and Efficiency
Manage assigned sections effectively to ensure fast, organised service during peak periods.
Perform regular table check-ins while balancing the pace of service.
Clear, reset, and maintain tables to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
Teamwork and Communication
Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar, runners, hosts, and other waitstaff for seamless service.
Communicate delays, special requests, dietary needs, and guest priorities clearly and promptly.
Support team members during busy shifts to maintain overall service standards.
Cash Handling and POS Use
Operate the POS system accurately for orders, bill splitting, and payments.
Ensure correct billing and handle cash/card payments according to company procedures.
Maintain accountability for all transactions and end-of-shift processes as required.
Hygiene, Safety, and Professional Standards
Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations aligned with restaurant standards.
Maintain a clean, polished appearance and adhere to uniform guidelines.
Keep service stations stocked, clean, and organised throughout shifts.
Problem-Solving and Guest Recovery
Respond calmly and professionally to guest complaints or service disruptions.
Apply service recovery principles to protect guest satisfaction and restaurant reputation.
Report recurring issues or operational bottlenecks to supervisors/management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a waiter/waitress in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management and ability to multitask under pressure.
Solid knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Confident upselling and guest engagement ability.
High attention to detail and order accuracy.
Team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.
