As a

Waitron

at Nkomazi Game Reserve, you will play a key role in delivering a memorable dining experience to our guests. You will be responsible for the efficient service of meals and beverages, ensuring cleanliness and preparation of dining and service areas, and providing exceptional hospitality in a luxury lodge environment. This role requires a service-driven individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A passion for guest satisfaction and maintaining high standards is essential.

Minimum Requirements



Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar food and beverage service environment (lodge/hotel experience preferred) Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards Knowledge of guest etiquette and hygiene protocols Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Customer-focused with a service-oriented attitude Strong problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and under pressure High attention to detail Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) Neat, well-groomed, and presentable Friendly and approachable personality Sober habits, physically fit, and in good health Strong work ethic, punctual, and dependable Willingness to work flexible and extended hours, including weekends and public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities



Guest Service:




Deliver exceptional guest service at all times, anticipating guest needs and responding promptly Welcome guests and attend to their food and beverage requirements in a courteous and professional manner Accurately record and manage orders, ensuring correct billing based on inclusive or exclusive guest packages Present wine lists and offer wine service with appropriate knowledge of stock availability

Table Setup & Maintenance:




Set and clear tables according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) Polish and prepare cutlery, crockery, glasses, candle holders, and service stations Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all service areas, including the lounge and dining areas Ensure condiments, napkins, butter, milk, herbal teas, sugar, and menu holders are replenished and clean

Bar & Beverage Duties:




Monitor beverage stock levels daily, especially during group bookings Rotate stock using the FIFO method and alert supervisors to fast-moving items Assist in weekly stocktakes (beverage and operational) with the Manager on Duty Keep bar area clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times Ensure no excess packaging or boxes are left in the chef's cold room

Pool & Outdoor Area:




Ensure clean towels are available at the pool before breakfast ends Remove used towels regularly and clear all by sunset Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the front terrace and pool area

Equipment & Maintenance:




Ensure coffee machines and service equipment are cleaned and maintained daily Report faults or maintenance issues promptly to the supervisor Handle company property and assets responsibly

Teamwork & Safety:




Assist other departments as needed Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times Wear the correct uniform and maintain a professional appearance * Promote the company's values and interests at all times
