VISUAL ARTS TEACHER (Grade 4 - 7)
Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate/s should:
Be qualified in the field of Visual Arts with the relevant degree
Be registered with SACE (or working towards registration
Demonstrate the ability to teach and inspire boys of all ages
Have experience working in an all-boys school environment (advantageous)
Possess excellent communication skills and a strong command of English
Have good administrative and organisational skills, with a proven track record managing art activities, exhibitions, and displays
Have experience working with multiple art mediums
Enjoy working with children and contribute positively to the creative and cultural life of the school
Have Police, Sexual Offenders Register, and Child Protection Act clearances
Updated CV with at least 2 recent contactable referees
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Visual Arts lessons across various grade levels that cater to boys of all ages and abilities
Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate diverse art mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital art, and mixed media
Differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of students with varying artistic abilities and learning styles
Foster creativity, artistic expression, and critical thinking skills through structured art projects and activities
Assess and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to support artistic growth and development
Maintain current knowledge of Visual Arts teaching methodologies and contemporary art practices
Maintain accurate records of learners progress, attendance, and assessment results
Prepare and submit required reports, documentation, and administrative paperwork in a timely manner
Manage the art budget, including ordering and maintaining inventory of art supplies and materials
Ensure the art studio/classroom is safe, clean, well-organised, and conducive to creative work
Organise and coordinate art exhibitions, displays, and showcases of student work throughout the school
Plan and execute school art events, competitions, and creative projects
Contribute actively to the creative and cultural life of the school through extracurricular activities, art clubs, or special projects
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate Visual Arts with other subject areas
* Participate in school events, functions, and exhibitions showcasing learners artwork
