Job description
Set up and operate video cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and other necessary tools for video shoots.
Collaborate with creative teams, or project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Look for appropriate subjects, locations and opportunities without requiring a budget- you make things happen. A visionary that can communicate a message without all the bells and whistles.
Assist in planning and storyboarding video concepts to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.
Edit and post-process video footage, including cutting, splicing, adding effects, graphics, and sound to produce polished final products.
Connect with people, build a community and tell impactful stories.
Understand how to captivate and communicate with our target audience.
Ensure video content aligns with the brand's style, message, and marketing objectives.
Stay updated on industry trends, equipment advancements, and video editing software to improve skills and techniques continuously.
Proactively test new ideas and different messaging to find the secret recipe for success.
Work alongside the marketing team to bring a vision to life, analyse creative performance and implement new ideas for improvement.
Manage and organise video files and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow.
Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, delivering completed videos on schedule.
Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during video shoots or post-production processes.
Manage and complete other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Note: you will be tasked with a substantial amount of editing-focused work.
Good understanding of photographic principals.
Capture high-quality video footage using professional cameras and equipment.
Conduct interviews and capture on-location footage.
Plan and execute video shoots, ensuring they align with project objectives.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and manage video and audio equipment.
Troubleshoot technical issue
Minimum requirements
Grade 12 Senior Certificate
A degree or diploma in film, media production, cinematography, or a related field is preferred
Ability to connect with people
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs
Excellent knowledge of video editing software e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and post-production techniques
Proven professional shooting experience
Understanding of cinematography principles, composition, and lighting techniques
Proficient with traditional and modern equipment
2-5 years experience
