Veterinary Nurse: Clinvet South Africa An exciting opportunity is available for a full time Veterinary Nurse in a predominantly small animal working environment. The successful candidate will join the dynamic Veterinary Care Department at Clinvet. Primary Job Purpose Veterinary care, nursing and promoting the well-being of all animals
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Clinical assistance to Veterinarians during surgery procedures and general nursing responsibilities
• Conduct relevant observations, examination, sampling procedures and/or analysis with regards to animal health and well being
• Interact and handle animals to ensure well-adjusted and cared for animals
• Management, handling, and storage of scheduled/unscheduled drugs in an efficient, safe, and environmentally sustainable manner
• Perform breeding tasks to ensure safe and successful breeding practices
• Record and handle raw data to ensure accurate and consistent information
• Therapy (on prescription) and care of animals ensuring good animal health and well being

Minimum education and experience requirements

• Dip Vet Nurse, and
• SAVC registered, and
• Experience in basic veterinary laboratory diagnostics, and
• Experience in working with all the following animals: production animals, companion animals, rabbits and rodents will be beneficial, and/or
• Experience with pharmacy and drug book management as well as supply chain management in terms of animal health supplies, will be beneficial, and
• Valid Driverxe2x80x99s license

Work Environment

• Work in a laboratory/research type environment with strict access and biosafety controls
• Interact with and handle animals
• Be available for work during normal work hours as well as after-hours according to pre-arranged departmental schedules that my require evening, weekend, and public holiday work
