KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL / Vertical Boring Mills)
Set up, align, and clamp large-diameter components
Perform turning, boring, facing, grooving, and drilling operations
Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
Measure large components using micrometers, gauges, and precision tools
Select tooling and cutting parameters for heavy machining
Perform repair, refurbishment, and reverse engineering work
Ensure machining is done safely, accurately, and efficiently
Maintain machine condition and workshop housekeeping
Work closely with engineers, fitters, and supervisors to meet deadlines
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Machinist / Turner (Trade Test preferred)
5 years or more experience operating Vertical Lathes
Strong experience with large components and heavy materials
Excellent understanding of tolerances and surface finishes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Safety-conscious with solid workshop discipline
