A leading kitchen design and manufacturing company based close to Sandton is seeking a skilled and detail-driven Veneering Specialist to join their production team. This hands-on role is ideal for a craftsperson with a strong background in veneering, cabinetry, or fine woodworking, looking to contribute to high-end kitchen installations and bespoke projects.
? Key Responsibilities

• Handle full veneering operations: veneer selection, grain matching, application, and finishing.
• Ensure all work meets high standards of quality, durability, and design integrity.
• Advise on appropriate veneer types, adhesives, and finishes for various projects.
• Operate and maintain veneering tools and machinery, following best practice procedures.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide practical solutions.
• Collaborate with production managers and quality controllers to meet exact specifications.
• Train and guide junior team members, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Drive continuous improvement in veneering methods and processes.
• Enforce and adhere to safety and health standards at all times.

? Skills & Competencies

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in veneering, cabinetry, or fine woodworking.
• Expert knowledge in veneer selection, adhesives, grain matching, and finishing.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• High attention to detail, with a commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex veneering projects.
• Leadership qualities with experience mentoring or training others.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to thrive under pressure and meet production deadlines.

? Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification in woodworking, joinery, or cabinetry (preferred).
• Certification or advanced training in veneering (advantageous).
• Sound knowledge of workplace Health and Safety regulations.
