Job Description
Job Purpose
The Mechanic will amomgst other duties diagnose, repair and maintain cars, trucks, tugs and other fleet managed by transport department to ensure safe and efficient operation at all times. It is key to have this understanding and skills
Principal Accountabilities
Inspect and diagnose Issues:
Perform visual inspections, road tests and use diagnostic scanners, to identify mechanical. Electrical or electronic faults.
Perform repairs and replacements:
Repair or replace faulty parts
Conduct routine maintenance:
Change oil and filters and other services
Electrical or electronic work:
Troubleshoot wiring, sensors etc
Safety and compliance:
Ensure vehicles meet safety standards and emissions regulations.
Documentation:
Record services, parts used and labour
Tool and shop maintenance:
Keep tools clean, maintain a safe and organised workspace
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 or equivalent - essential
Drivers Licence - essential
Automotive repair (any Induustry) - 5 years experience - essential
Knowledge and Skills
SAP and AMOS - Basic
MS Word & Excel
