CAPE TOWN - Northern Suburbs - UX Designer required for luxury travel brand
UX Designer
Our client is looking for a UX Designer who understands that great digital experiences aren't just about how they look, but how they feel to the user. They want someone curious about human behaviour, with the ability to design journeys that connect people to their brands, products, and services.

As their UX Designer, you'll be responsible for shaping smooth, engaging, and conversion-focused user experiences across digital platforms. You'll lead UX strategy, research, and optimisation to make every interaction intuitive and impactful.
Key Responsibilities :
UX Design & Strategy

  • Design user-friendly website interfaces that reflect the brand's identity.
  • Work with the Brand & Content Lead to create a UX strategy that blends luxury storytelling with functionality.
  • Collaborate with the Tech team to ensure designs can be implemented effectively.
Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) & Testing
  • Run A/B and usability testing to improve engagement and increase conversions.
  • Use tools like Hotjar, Google Analytics, and Optimizely to identify user challenges.
  • Apply insights to refine and improve designs continuously.
Wireframing & Prototyping
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to support new UX ideas.
  • Ensure every design decision considers conversion and engagement.
Research & Insights
  • Conduct ongoing user and competitor research.
  • Lead surveys, interviews, and usability testing to validate design choices.
Usability & Accessibility
  • Ensure websites follow best practices in accessibility, mobile design, and performance.
  • Test usability using platforms like Hotjar and Userbrain, making improvements where needed.
  • Keep up to date with UX trends and techniques.
UI Design
  • Produce high-quality UI designs for web and marketing materials while keeping brand consistency.
  • Guide the UI Designer in delivering design requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a design system to streamline processes.
Collaboration
  • Partner with the Digital Acquisition Lead to ensure UX supports SEO and PPC goals.
  • Work with Tech and Development teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5+ years' experience in UX/UI design, CRO, or website optimisation, preferably in e-commerce or travel.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Miro, or Sketch.
  • Experience with CRO tools such as Hotjar, Optimizely, or VWO.
  • Knowledge of front-end usability and familiarity with HTML/CSS.
  • Strong understanding of user psychology and behaviour.
  • Proven track record of delivering design projects that drive results.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to guide improvements.
  • Strong visual design skills (typography, colour, iconography).
  • Experience in user research and testing methods.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Tech, Content).
