Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as housekeeping, repairing, and inspecting of the utilities equipment (Effluent plant, Boiler plant, Compressor room, Cooling towers, Chiller room, Gas plant and Pumphouse). Adhere to safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment. Assist in the installation of utility systems and equipment. Daily condition-based monitoring of the equipment and systems ensuring that they are functioning properly. Identify and report any issues or malfunctions to the Utilities Foreman. Coal mixing, ensuring the coal does not stay for too long in the Coal Bunker. Ensure that all water treatment stations are functioning properly, record and file chemical stock levels. Assist maintenance building team. Operate and maintain utility systems such as Compressors, Cooling towers and air conditioning (HVAC) system.


Grade12/Matric Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects Must have experience with operating plant equipment Must be a team player Must have ability to work at heights and confined spaces. Fault finding ability and quick response to safety hazards. Must be able to work overtime when requested. Must have a natural aptitude for working with tools. Must have knowledge on basic building and equipment maintenance and daily checklists
