Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Unqualified Fitter to be based at the Mechanization site in Marble Hall. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Superintendent.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The incumbent must repair, maintain and attend to mechanical breakdowns on all harvesting and planting equipment. General repairs and maintenance on all the Marble Hall site equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete maintenance schedules and inspections.
- Overhaul agricultural farm equipment stripping, examining, replacing and repairing faulty parts and reassembling.
- Maintaining equipment and machinery in a safe and operational condition.
- Maintain and service all agricultural farm equipment to ensure maximum availability.
- Diagnose cause of breakdown and repair faults.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- At least a N3 mechanical qualification
- A minimum of 1- 3 years' experience specifically on earth moving/agricultural equipment
- Sound knowledge on mechanical machinery operation and maintenance.
- Valid drivers license Code 08/10 is an advantage
- Technically minded
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle pressure whilst maintaining a high work rate
