5 years' experience as a Ventilation / Occupational Hygiene Superintendent (DL) with work experience as a Radiation Protection Officer
Be in possession of an industry functional professional certification (the Certificate in Mine Environmental Control, Issued by the Chamber of Mines / Minerals Council of South Africa)
Be in possession of an industry functional professional certification (the Certificate in Mine Environmental Control, Issued by the Chamber of Mines / Minerals Council of South Africa)
Be in possession of the Radiation Protection Officer Certificate (Issued by the National Nuclear Regulator)
Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Occupational Hygiene statistical analysis techniques.
Have experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of management systems and database formulation
Be abreast with the latest Ventilation, Occupational Hygiene and Radiation Protection Technologies
Demonstrate strong communication, report writing and presentation skills
Have sound people management and analytical abilities
Be prepared to work overtime on an ad hoc basis when required
KPA
Oversee and coordinate the occupational hygiene programmes by coordinating the overall occupational hygiene strategy for operations, projects, and joint ventures as applicable
Provide occupational hygiene technical expertise to the operations to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Oversee the Central Occupational Hygiene laboratory that provides services to the SA Region
Oversee the Radiation Protection functions to ensure compliance to the conditions of the various Certificate of Registration's (COR's), NNR Act and Regulations 388
Determine the need and develop Occupational Hygiene and Radiation Protection policies, procedures, and standards to ensure legal requirements are met.
Design, implement and manage the total effective long term Occupational Hygiene and Radiation Protection strategies and systems. xe2x80xa2
Perform internal and external audits
Support the SA Region (Gold and SA PGM) with Occupational Hygiene exposure analysis and trend data for reporting as required.
Support the development and testing of applicable electronic information systems
Updating relevant codes of practice whenever required and ensuring compliance
