We are currently recruiting for a

Unit Manager

to be responsible for monitoring the quality of the food, service and making sure that the unit performs well.

Location: Various units across the Western Cape.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

Discuss catering arrangements;

Plan menu and communicate with staff;Daily costing sheets to be completed;Supervise the purchase, storage and issuing of stock;Supervise provision of all crockery, cutlery, detergents, kitchenware, etc.;Adequate stock control and security;Record keeping of payments, expenses, temperature logs, safety & hygiene documentation;Plan, coordinate and supervise activities of staff in dining room, kitchen and other areas;Manage staff, training and time schedules;Make sure that the dining room, kitchen, storage facilities and other work areas are kept clean;Attend to complaints concerning food and service.

Candidate Requirements

Matric certificateDiploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management or similar qualification;Minimum of 3-4yrs experience in a simular role;Good people management skills;Sound knowledge of food safety & hygiene practices;Knowledge and experience of stock and cost control;Experience of menu planning;In depth understanding of roles,responsibilities and functions within the unit.
