Job Description


The purpose of this role is to assist GRMS in their role as co-ordinators and facilitators of insurance and reinsurance placement on behalf of the Members of the Mutual Risk Group mainly focusing on Underwriting and related matters.

The Role

  • Manage renewal submission deadline and review information submitted
  • Will need to build and retain relationships with different stakeholders such as: Underwriting, support staff and claims, Servicing Brokers, Insurance and Reinsurance Placing Brokers and Local & overseas insurers and reinsurers.
  • Attend to renewal queries as necessary.
  • Prepare the necessary reports for renewal submission.
  • Arranging placing brokersxe2x80x99 access to renewal information on Riskonnect
  • Liaise with placing brokers for any queries on submitted renewal information
  • Responsible for the overall administration of renewal information collection system
  • Provide updated Budget and Final Premium Allocation Underwriting Input Parameters.
  • Manage Underwriting Administration: attend to adhoc underwriting queries, updating of Insurance Structure for Claims, liaising with servicing brokers and placing brokers in respect of endorsements and any other related queries.
  • Liaise with both Servicing Brokers and Placing Brokers for Payments and confirmation of payment.
  • Ensure that the necessary arrangements and appointments have been made of the Broker Liaison Meetings
  • Act as a Fire Marshall for the company.
The Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years experience across several classes of insurance in either one or more of these disciplines xe2x80x93 Underwriting, servicing brokers or placement role
  • Insurance related qualification with experience in the local and/or international insurance industry.
  • Experience working with IT Literate - knowledge of Microsoft packages and other insurance systems or software that may be used within the MRG arrangement.
  • Technical insurance knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure, accountability and fast learner
  • Competences such as: Presentation Skills, Time Management, People management, Action Oriented, Conflict Management, Customer Focus
