RPO's client is actively seeking an experienced Underwriter - Commercial Insurance to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to join a brokerage environment that values accuracy, initiative, and client-focused service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance underwriting, with the ability to manage both underwriting and claims responsibilities confidently.
This is a full-time, onsite position.
Responsibilities:
Underwriting:

• Manage commercial and personal lines underwriting.
• Provide quotations for new business.
• Process policy amendments and endorsements.
• Assist with renewals, including pre-renewal negotiations and insurer instructions.
• Prepare and bind presentations (PowerPoint).
• Review loss ratios and adjust motor values to current market value.
• Compile pre-renewal and renewal comparisons for client presentations (Excel).
• Capture policy changes on the Ski Host system.
• Draft and send client correspondence with all necessary documentation.
• Marine underwriting experience will be advantageous.

Claims:

• Assist with processing claims across all insurance classes.
• Ensure all documentation is received for claims.
• Capture claims on Ski Host and shared file systems.
• Follow up with insurers and service providers.
• See claims through to finalisation.

Requirements:

• Matric
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a brokerage environment.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Ski Host or similar systems.
• Strong product knowledge (Marine experience a plus).
• Knowledge of exchange control is advantageous.
• RE5 certification is essential.
