Design has a proud legacy at Luno, and we're excited to welcome a UI designer who shares our passion for great design and is ready to make a meaningful impact.The role in a nutshell:As part our the Product Design team, you will work partner with our UI Design Competency Lead, , working closely with our Product Designers to enhance the user interface of our product, and continued evolution of our design system (Matter), working across Product, Engineering and Brand teams. Your work will directly contribute to the success of millions of global users navigating the evolving world of cryptocurrency.Your mission will be:

• UI Design & Product Support

• Partner with our team of product designers to deliver best-in-class visual and interaction design across Luno's product suite.
• Contribute to responsive and cross-platform design, ensuring a seamless experience across web and mobile.
• Work closely with product designers to elevate visual consistency and polish across all touchpoints.
• Align UI decisions with Luno's brand identity and collaborate with marketing to ensure consistency across product and brand experiences.

• Design System Maintenance & Contribution

• Own the day-to-day maintenance of the Matter Figma library, ensuring updates, bug fixes, and improvements are regularly implemented.
• Create and refine design system components, templates, and design tokens, ensuring Matter evolves with Luno's product needs.
• Assist in onboarding product designers to Matter, ensuring they understand how to use and contribute to the system.
• Craft detailed acceptance criteria and work with engineering to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct quality assurance of UI design implementation across Web, iOS, and Android.
• Optimise Figma workflows to improve the efficiency of product designers and developers.
• Document best practices, usage guidelines, and contribution processes for Matter.
• Assist with release notes and versioning of the design system to keep teams informed of updates.
• Help track and measure design system adoption and performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Create training materials that can be referenced by product designers to ensure the UI design hand-off process is consistent and utilises our design tokens.

A little about you:

• Strong UI design skills with a portfolio demonstrating clean, scalable, and well-crafted designs.
• Experience with design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI design.
• Proficiency in Figma and deep understanding of component-based design workflows.
• A collaborative, curious mindset, to help understand the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.
• A keen eye for detail and expert knowledge of components and when to utilise them.
• Familiarity with responsive design principles, accessibility, and motion design.
• Ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, and marketing teams.
• A proactive mindset, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive improvements.
