To deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders, by overseeing the storage, inventory control, and distribution of tyres, parts, and workshop supplies in a tyre workshop. This role involves managing stock levels, ensuring accurate documentation, assisting with orders and deliveries, and supporting the smooth operation of the workshop by ensuring that materials and tyres are readily available when needed.
KEY OUTCOMES
Inventory Management:
Receive deliveries of tyres and other workshop supplies, ensuring accuracy of quantities and quality.
Organize and maintain a tidy and efficient storage area for tyres and equipment, ensuring easy access and proper storage.
Track stock levels and report low inventory or out-of-stock items to the Workshop Manager or Purchasing Department.
Conduct regular stock checks and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
Rotate stock to ensure older tyres and products are used first, following the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
Ensure tyres and parts are properly stored and segregated according to size, type, and condition.
Maintain tyre storage areas to comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, quality, and conformity to orders.
Label and tag tyres and parts for easy identification.
Order and Distribution:
Pick and prepare tyres, parts, and materials for customer orders or workshop requirements.
Deliver tyres and materials to the workshop floor as requested by technicians or service personnel.
Assist in loading and unloading tyres and parts from vehicles.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of tyres and parts.
Maintain records of stock receipts, movements, and issues.
Ensure all orders are delivered on time to avoid delays in workshop operations.
Record Keeping and Documentation
Maintain accurate records of tyre stock, parts, and supplies.
Update stock levels in the inventory management system and ensure all stock movements (receipts, issues, and returns) are documented.
Assist with inventory audits and ensure compliance with company policies.
Workshop Support:
Assist workshop staff in sourcing the correct tyres and parts for customers' vehicles or service requirements.
Ensure tyres are properly inflated and meet safety standards before being sent to the workshop for fitting or sale.
Keep storage areas and workshop tidy, ensuring that tyres and parts are organized and easily accessible.
Support the workshop team with the movement of tyres and materials around the premises.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Follow all health and safety regulations in the handling, storage, and movement of tyres and materials.
Ensure that tyres are stored safely to prevent accidents or damage, and that safety equipment (e.g., gloves, lifting tools) is used when handling heavy or large items.
Keep work areas clean and free of hazards to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Customer Service:
Assist with customer enquiries regarding tyre availability, specifications, and services.
Provide information about product availability and delivery times.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Matric.
Prior experience in a storeman or inventory management role, preferably in a tyre or automotive workshop environment.
Knowledge of tyre products, parts, and automotive tools is a plus.
Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software (if applicable).
Forklift license or experience .
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and team members.
Physical strength and stamina, with the ability to lift and move tyres.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable standing, walking, and moving around the workshop floor for extended periods.
