After-School Tutor (Grades 4-12 | IEB & CAPS)

Location: Silverton

Employment Type: Part-Time Contract

Working Hours: Afternoon sessions (weekdays)

Job Purpose

To provide structured academic support to learners in accordance with the IEB and CAPS curriculum, while promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tutoring sessions aligned with approved curriculum standards Support learners with homework, assessments, tests, and examinations Monitor learner progress and maintain basic academic records Maintain discipline and learner safety in line with organisational policies Communicate professionally with learners, parents, and management
Minimum Requirements

Relevant teaching qualification, subject qualification, or enrolment in an education-related programme Knowledge of the IEB and/or CAPS curriculum Experience tutoring Grades 4-12 (advantageous) Clear criminal record (background checks may be conducted) Ability to work with minors in a responsible and ethical manner
Employment Conditions

Employment is subject to a part-time contract Remuneration will be market-related and discussed during the interview process Successful candidates may be required to sign a code of conduct and confidentiality agreement
