Mammoth Global is looking for a Turner Machinist to assist with the production in our workshop to ensure the manufacturing of high quality products

Job Purpose:

Conventional Lathe operation and set up - Precisely shape and cut materials using lathe machine and set up lathe machine by selecting and installing the correct tools. Ensure that materials are turned, drilled to meet specific design and dimensional requirements Material Loading -Load materials (Metal steel) onto the machine and ensure they are securely positioned. Adjustments-Make adjustments to the machine settings or tooling to correct errors Qualified advantage Heavy Engineering

Matric Red Seal

Experience:

2 - 5 Years of Experience

Knowledge:

Precisions and measurements Understanding of lathe components and functions Cutting techniques Speed and feed rates Tool maintenance

Skills:

Intermediate level of turning with efficiency and accuracy Precisions and measurements Understanding of lathe components and functions Cutting techniques Speed and feed rates Tool maintenance

Abilities:

Able to work efficiently unsupervised Able to be troubleshooting Must be punctual Goal oriented Self-discipline

Duties & Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Set up and operate the machine to perform cutting, drilling and turning operations Adjust machine settings, speeds and feeds according to job specifications and material

Maintenance & Safety:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on lathe machine (Lubrication, cleaning and changing parts)

Turning of Threads:

Reading of Drawings:

Interpret technical drawings to determine the required specification parts Ensure precise measurements and tolerances maintained.

Step Up On 4 Jaw Chuck:

Install and align tools on the lathe machine to ensure correct machining.

Part Inspection:

Use measuring equipment (Vernier, Micrometer, Tape )to check the dimensions and quality of the finished part.

Housekeeping:

Follow Safety Protocols

Collaboration:

Work closely with other operators/Machinist and supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
