Job Description

Basic Requirements:



Education:

Completed tertiary education. Qualified Artisan - Turner Machinist.

Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years post-qualification experience operating a

manual lathe machine

. Skilled in raw material identification, handling, and assessing materials per technical drawings. Experience in creating and following

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

and

daily worksheet job planning

. Strong ability to interpret and work from

mechanical manufacturing drawings

. Practical experience with

precision machining

and adherence to deadlines is essential.

Technical Skills:

Proficient with

manual lathes

and

precision measuring tools

. Strong

analytical and problem-solving

skills. Maintenance knowledge to ensure manual lathe functionality.

Workplace Skills:

Excellent communication: ability to

read, write, and speak English

is compulsory. Afrikaans proficiency (optional but advantageous). Capable of working

independently and within a team

. Strict adherence to

workplace safety protocols

and operational procedures. Punctual and reliable, with a clear understanding of

working hours

.

Job Objectives:



Accurately read and interpret

mechanical drawings

and complete assigned tasks based on design specifications. Undergo a

practical evaluation

to demonstrate machining competence. Operate manual lathe machines and

manufacture components to precise specifications

as directed by engineering staff. Plan and complete machining tasks according to project

timing schedules

. Maintain and clean workspaces daily; ensure machines are in proper working order. Submit a

daily task report

before end-of-day departure. Consistently maintain

tight tolerances and quality standards

. Always promote and adhere to workplace safety and cleanliness.
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: R15000,00 - R18000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
