Lesaka Technologies is a leading South African fintech company with providing financial services and solutions to the underserviced at its core. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Treasury ALM Analyst to join our dynamic Group Treasury team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) function, focusing on balance sheet management, liquidity and capital allocation. Technical skill set including Advanced Excel (Power Query), financial modelling, and data interpretation are essential. Progress toward FRM certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Balance Sheet & Risk Management:

• Support the monitoring, analysis, and optimisation of the groups balance sheet, with a focus on structural interest rate risk, liquidity positioning, and funding mix.
• Perform behavioural analysis on core products.

Liquidity Management & Cash Pooling:

• Assist in managing both short-term and long-term liquidity across the group, including intercompany cash pooling structures to optimise liquidity utilisation.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting on internal liquidity metrics.

Cash Flow Forecasting & Capital Allocation:

• Assist in developing and maintaining detailed cash flow forecasting models.
• Support internal decision-making by providing forward-looking funding and capital availability insights.

Interest Rate Risk:

• Perform gap, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to evaluate interest rate exposure.
• Quantify the impact of rate movements on both net interest income (NII) and economic value.

Data Analysis & Modelling:

• Leverage Advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA), SQL, and ALM systems for analysis and reporting.
• Contribute to automation, data quality improvements, and visualisation initiatives using Python, Power BI, or similar tools.

Policy & Framework Development:

• Assist with drafting and reviewing ALM and Treasury policies, modelling assumptions, and control frameworks.
• Support governance, documentation, and stakeholder engagement across Finance, Risk, Treasury Operations, and business units.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 35 years of relevant experience in Treasury, ALM, risk analytics, or financial services.
• Strong Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, VBA) and SQL skills; Python or Power BI experience is an advantage.
• Experience working across multiple companies or group structures will be beneficial.
