The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for daily interfaces between our internal customers and vendors. The position requires interaction with all functional departments of AJC, including 18 sales & operational regions. The ideal candidate should be dependable, have transportation industry knowledge, customer service skills, and should be a creative problem solver.Key Responsibilities:Including but not limited to:Analyze our booked business reports. Work with Operations and Sales Team teams to identify timeline for future shipments.Identify best routing for the execution of our shipments based on product readiness, trucking, and ocean carrierxe2x80x99s services availability.Address daily tactical issues with our internal customers and transportation vendors.Identify opportunities to improve processes and performance. Offer ideas on how to implement positive changes.Identify core business and key destinations for each of our transportation vendors to make best match with our business.Rate requests, negotiations, and management with our transportation vendors such as ocean carriers, trucking companies and freight forwarders.Essential Skills:Exceptional organizational skillsHigh attention to detailAble to meet deadlines and complete work accurately.Results driven.Ability to multitask & prioritizeAble to work independently and with other team members.Professional written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong experience in Excel.Positive, energetic, and able to work on a dynamic international environment.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international Business or related field1-2 years experience in Ocean transportation.Knowledge of refrigerated transportation (preferred)Advanced skills in MS Outlook, Excel and Oracle.Language Requirements:Candidate is required to read, write, and, speak English fluently.Proficiency in a second language.Additional Candidate RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Experience: 0-3 yearsReport job
