Business Overview

This is a busy, fast paced operation which offers many challenges and opportunities for the right person. This position is based at PE Mondelez Coega site, Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).

Purpose:

To provide support to the Operations Lead and assist in the control of the Warehouse operations. To plan, co-ordinate, manage and report upon the work activities. To provide effective communication, leadership, motivation, training and development. To direct, co-ordinate and plan the operation through effective scheduling of employees. Pay particular attention must be given to quality, reliability, delivery, safety, cost saving and housekeeping. To optimize all resources to ensure that the operation is managed effectively and that customer service standards are achieved and maintained. Ensure that all contractual KPI targets are achieved and maintained in accordance with the Service Level Agreement. To support and enforce Business SHEQ and Legal objectives. Manage employees to perform their tasks / job descriptions by ensuring safety, quality and integrity. To encourage employees to highlight incidents of deliberate product pilferages and damages and to enforce compliance with the listed.

Role Accountabilities:

  • : ensuring that KPIxe2x80x99s are met, zero discrepancies, stock loaded and offloaded on time, ensuring productivity and activities are compliant with contractual KPIxe2x80x99s, shrinkage is minimised, MHExe2x80x99s are allocated, stock integrity on goods received and dispatched.
  • : by achieving of contractual KPIxe2x80x99s, effective utilisation of labour within budget, daily volumes and resource plans are aligned, verify and ensure daily activities and goals are achieved.
  • : encourage and reward constructive internal competitiveness to the benefit of the Client
  • Compliance with statutory and Company Policies and Procedures: ensure compliance within the Team, Health and Safety, Employment Equity, Labour Relations, Legislative, Environmental issues, monitoring and maintaining a high level of compliance
  • ensure appropriate staffing levels, high competence levels in staff, appropriate disciplinary actions are taken, monitor and manage leave trends, manage time keeping schedules, train and develop staff, achieve standards set out by monitoring performance and providing feedback.
  • Quality Control
  • Ensure priority list is followed at all times and communicated to the team
  • Ensure communication is sent to the UL Transport team, wrt delays
  • Ensure that costs / overtime are kept to a minimum
  • Understanding of distribution and transport methods
  • Escalate all issues which cannot be resolved to the Operations Lead
  • Effective Leadership and Management of Operational Teams
  • Delivery of safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for Team members
  • Ensure that housekeeping is at the highest standard
  • Team building and morale management
  • Ensuring compliance of SOPxe2x80x99s {understood, managed and maintained}
  • Responsible for issues relating to Health & Safety and the environment
  • Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilisation
  • Translate, analyse and deliver customer needs through effective operations
  • Ensure daily / weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished
  • Maintain stock control procedures and continuously review to enable daily reconciliation of theorical and physical stock
  • Maintain appropriate information / reporting systems to monitor performance on an ongoing basis
  • Active participation in stock counts i.e. Planning, Preparation and Physical counting of stock
  • Conduct training and competence assessments for new team members, ensuring that records are kept
  • Demonstrate respect without compromising on results
  • Management of staff
  • Take ownership to deal effectively with queries, requests and complaints
  • Give support, share knowledge and skills to other team members
  • Adhere to the sites SHEQ rules and best practices
  • Ensure that product safety, quality and integrity is not compromised
  • Report any persons behaviour that may impact on the safety, quality and integrity of the stored product

  • Supply Chain Management Qualification
Skills/Competencies/Experiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Person should have a sound knowledge and understanding of a PC and the inherent controls. Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • SAP / Manhattan and WMOS knowledge
  • Knowledge of clients requirements and customer needs
  • Proven track record of experience in a similar Supervisory role
  • To co-ordinate movement of stock out of site in a manner to maximise profit
  • Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of clientxe2x80x99s requirements and customer needs
  • Person should have a good understanding of quality as a key value
  • Awareness of importance of security
  • Operational knowledge and understanding of service delivery
  • React to customers in a courteous and professional manner and maintain the highest level of integrity
  • 2 xe2x80x93 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience of working in Warehousing/Logistics environment
