ABOUT THE ROLE




The Training Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end coordination, administration, and operational execution of all training initiatives across Retail Stores, the Retail Academy, and selected Head Office-led training programmes in partnership with the Group Head Office in France. This role ensures that training activities are well planned, aligned to business priorities, consistently delivered, accurately tracked, and professionally communicated, enabling the business to build strong retail capability and leadership across all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Retail Store Training Coordination



Coordinate all Store-based and Retail Academy training programmes (technical, commercial, leadership, service, and compliance). Work closely with Store Managers, Store HR Manager , Heads of Department, and Regional Teams to plan training calendars aligned to operational needs. Manage training logistics including venues, schedules, facilitators, materials, attendance, and follow-ups. Ensure minimal operational disruption while maintaining training effectiveness. Track participation and completion rates. Obtain feedback from delegates, take action where possible, and communicate outcomes as well as future solutions or opportunities to the Head of Training.

Retail Academy Coordination



Support the planning and execution of Retail Academy programmes, workshops, and learning pathways. Coordinate Academy sessions including participant nominations, facilitator confirmations, communication, logistics, and learning materials. Maintain accurate records of learner progress, certifications, and assessments. Act as the operational link between facilitators, academy leadership, and retail operations. Support continuous improvement of academy processes and learner experience.

Head Office (France) Training Coordination



Coordinate training initiatives led or supported by Group Head Office in France. Act as the primary local point of contact for training alignment, scheduling, and execution in South Africa. Support logistics for visiting trainers, international programmes, virtual training sessions, and translations/localisation where required. Ensure alignment between Group standards, frameworks, and local business realities. Communicate training plans, outcomes, and feedback back to the Head Office.

Training Administration & Reporting



Maintain a centralised training calendar and training database. Track training attendance, completion, costs, and impact metrics. Prepare monthly and quarterly training reports for compliance reporting, management and Group stakeholders. Support budget tracking and supplier administration related to training activities. Ensure training records meet internal governance and audit requirements. Liaise with all External Service Providers and Governmental Departments - ensure relationships are maintained and constantly improved

Communication & Stakeholder Management



Serve as the key coordination and communication hub for all training-related matters. Communicate clearly and professionally with stores, Academy teams, facilitators, HR Team , and Head Office. Support change management by ensuring training messages are clear, timely, and consistent. Promote a culture of continuous learning across the organisation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR



Qualifications & Experience



Diploma or Degree in HR, Training & Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field. 3-5 years' experience in a training coordination, L&D administration, or HR role. Experience supporting large retail teams or multi-location operations. Exposure to international or Group-level training coordination is an advantage. Fluent in English

Skills you bring



Strong training coordination and administration capability. Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills. Experience in retail, home improvement, or multi-site environments (highly advantageous). Solid reporting and data management skills. Comfortable working with learning management systems (LMS) and Google Workspace. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Confident communicator across different levels and cultures. Proactive, solutions-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities. Collaborative and service-oriented mindset. * Comfortable working in a matrix and international environment.
