THINK is recruiting for a Training and Education Lead, they will be responsible to steer the organisation's educational initiatives, both internally and externally. This role necessitates a blend of educational expertise, strategic vision, and leadership to enhance our global training and education footprint .

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develop and drive the organisation overarching strategy for education and training department.
  • Shape a comprehensive vision and strategic direction for the organisation educational and training endeavors, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
  • Align educational and training strategies and work closely with other department heads to align educational and training initiatives with broader organisational and public health objectives.
  • Ensure that training programs support and enhance the organisation's mission and vision.
  • Analyse market trends and opportunities to identify income generation areas with growth potential.
  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality training programs using a variety of methods, including workshops, seminars, online courses, and mentorship.
  • Incorporate adult learning principles to ensure engagement and effectiveness of training materials.
  • Continuously assess the impact of training programs through evaluations and feedback mechanisms, and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
  • Curriculum design and developing a standardised yet adaptable curriculum for different programs, ensuring content relevance, applicability, and impact.
  • Program evaluation and establishing metrics and conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness of educational and training programs, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Gather input from communities, partners, and professionals to ensure programs meet the evolving needs of the target audience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, health bodies, and other organisation both in public and private sectors to leverage collective expertise and resources.
  • Design and conduct training workshops, ensuring they are interactive, impactful, and catered to the specific needs of the audience.
  • Create long-term programs aimed at strengthening the skills and knowledge base of communities, health workers, and other stakeholders.
  • E-learning platforms and explore and implement e-learning platforms to widen the reach and accessibility of training programs, especially in remote areas.
  • Digital resource development and lead initiatives to develop mobile apps, online resources, or digital tools that can facilitate self-paced learning.
  • Emerging technologies and stay updated on emerging tech trends in education, such as virtual reality or augmented reality, and explore their potential integration.
  • Research & Proposal Development and identify funding opportunities and spearhead the process of drafting compelling grant proposals that highlight the organisations expertise and the potential impact of proposed educational and training initiatives.
  • Educational and training publications and oversee the creation of educational and training manuals, research papers, online resources, and other publications that disseminate knowledge and best practices.
  • Prepare grant proposals and applications, demonstrating the value and impact of the training programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funding organisations to secure financial support for training initiatives.
  • Assist Human Resource department in leading efforts to secure SETA accreditation for the organisation's training programs.
  • Assist with developing and submit necessary documentation and applications to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the Training and Education department, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Develop individual growth plans for team members, ensuring they have opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between the divisions of external training, capacity building, and internal education.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to gather insights and tailor training programs to their needs.
  • Act as a liaison between the organisation and external training providers, consultants, and experts.
  • Establish robust feedback mechanisms to gather insights from participants of training programs, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in global health and education forums, building relationships, sharing the organisation accomplishments, and learning from others.
  • Initiate joint projects or training initiatives with other organisations, leveraging collective expertise for greater impact.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking and reporting on training activities, participant progress, and outcomes.
  • Generate regular reports for management, showcasing the impact of training initiatives on organisational growth and development.
  • Ensure THINK vision, mission and values are reflected in all job outcomes.
  • Comply with all THINK rules and regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Be passionate about making the difference and add value to THINK.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing training and education programs, preferably in the non-profit or NGO sector.
  • Strong technological acumen, with experience in integrating technology into educational initiatives.
  • Knowledge of SETA accreditation processes and requirements.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate training initiatives.
  • Ability to analyse training and education needs, develop curriculum, and measure training. effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in using training software, learning management systems, and other relevant tools is an advantage.
