Monthly Cost To Company (Provident Fund, Market related, Negotiable) Our client with head office in Pretoria is looking for an experienced Technician to be based at their Polokwane Traffic Control Centre, based in Limpopo.

Main Job Purposes

To assist with maintaining the electrical and mechanical equipment to achieve the maximum availability
at the minimum practical cost.
Employment Specification:

Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job):

• School : Grade 12 Certificate
• Post School : IT Qualification/ Certificate
• Any further formal IT related studies will be advantages
• Job Related : A+ and N+ Certification is a requirement

Experience :

• At least five (5) years IT related experience in technical environment, especially in Weighbridge operations
• Experience in Electrical Fault finding, civil works, welding and mechanical repairs would be an advantage
• Job Related : Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License
• Certificate of medical fitness.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• The daily physical demands are those required to work on the route, inside, outside and on top of buildings/ladders.
• The Technician must drive a motor vehicle on public roads
• A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed.
• The work environment characteristics are those encountered on a typical highway and at the toll road environment, as well as at office buildings.
• The work is performed inside and outside buildings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. General end user support that includes troubleshooting and successful resolution of incidents and
problems.
2. Managing, monitoring systems and maintain all technical systems on site.
3. Monitoring, logging, investigating and resolution of all systems.
4. Routine maintenance on hardware, software and other applications.
5. Creating and/or updating relevant network or systems procedures.
6. Daily and weekly backups according to system engineers specifications
7. Installation of printers, scanners, Personal Computers, PDAxe2x80x99s, network points, Wi-Fi routers, etc.
8. Submit monthly reports on maintenance done and support given, and on outstanding tasks to be done.
9. Liaise with third party service providers and manage service level agreements under direction of the Assistant Manager: Technical
10. Following network installation procedures
11. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspection reports
12. Ensure all equipment is serviced according to specifications outlined in the O&M Manuals
13. Advise on any possible change of operations due to system defectiveness
14. Attend to system faults as entered into the Fault Notification Book
15. Complete any administrative task, or any other work assigned from time to time
16. Take responsibility for system training, mentoring, coaching and skills transfer
17. Daily and weekly backups according to system engineers specifications
18. Ensure all systems (TRAFMAN, VMC, CCTV Monitoring systems) are virus free
19. Configuration of IP addresses on the systems as well as maintaining IP address lists
20. Maintenance of the WAN / LAN / Wi-Fi connections

Reports to: Assistant Technical Manager

Remuneration: Market related monthly CTC
