The Tomcat Support Specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Apache Tomcat and Apache web servers. The role requires hands-on experience with application deployment, SSL implementation, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and server patching to ensure stability, security, and high availability. The successful candidate will also support development teams in deploying Guidewire code and migrating applications across environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain installation and configuration guides for Tomcat and Apache environments.
Administer Apache Tomcat servers, including starting, shutting down, and monitoring services.
Install, configure, and manage Apache Tomcat across various environments.
Configure and manage Apache web servers in Linux environments.
Implement SSL/TLS setup for both Tomcat and Apache application servers.
Deploy applications to Tomcat and Apache servers, ensuring successful rollouts.
Debug and troubleshoot application server issues by analyzing logs.
Monitor service health and performance, ensuring uptime and reliability.
Perform upgrades, downgrades, and apply patches to application servers.
Maintain compliance and security by implementing regular updates.
Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage web applications.
Manage application data migration processes.
Support
Guidewire code deployment
and ensure stability in production environments.
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications & Certifications
Relevant IT/Computer Science degree or equivalent qualification (preferred).
Certifications in
Linux Administration
,
Apache/Tomcat
, or related technologies (advantageous).
Experience & Skills
Minimum
3 years' experience
supporting
Tomcat and Apache environments

Strong knowledge of
Tomcat administration
, configuration, and application deployment.
Proficiency in
Linux system administration

Experience implementing and managing
SSL/TLS certificates
for secure environments.
Hands-on experience with
