What You'll Do:
As a key member of the surgical team, you'll:
- Scrub in and directly assist during surgical procedures
- Ensure the operating theatre is prepped and ready with the right instruments and sterile equipment
- Uphold top-tier aseptic and infection control standards
- Coordinate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and recovery teams for smooth operations
- Manage and track surgical instruments and consumables pre- and post-op
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records
- Contribute to the training and support of junior staff and student nurses
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Diploma or Degree in General Nursing (Post-basic Theatre qualification is a plus!)
- At least 2 years of theatre scrub experience
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instruments
- Clear communicator and calm under pressure
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and be on-call
- Experience in private or tertiary hospitals
- Exposure to diverse surgical specialties (orthopaedics, plastics, dental, gastro, etc.)
- Valid BLS/ALS certification
- Passion for continuous learning and growth
