Job Description

Our client, a private day hospital, is looking for Registered Nurses (RN) / Professional Nurses (PN) with proven THEATRE SCRUB experience. This is for part-time shifts at a private hospital in in Bloemfontein in the Free State. This is an opportunity to work temporary daily shifts from Monday xe2x80x93 Friday 07:00 xe2x80x93 19:00 starting as soon as possible

Requirements

• Valid SANC licence

• At least 6 months to 1 year theatre scrub experience

• An additional qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science/Diploma in Critical Care Nursing will be advantageous

• Must have own indemnity insurance cover

• A good understanding and application of the nursing scope of practice

• Knowledge of clinical procedures, relevant nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process and BCA bundles

• Sound knowledge and application of relevant Theatre and CSSD policies and procedures

• Management of surgical equipment and instruments

• Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols

• Risk Management

Key Outputs

: Deliver safe, comprehensive and quality peri-operative nursing care according to Scope of Practice.

• Deliver quality peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team

• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety

• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment

• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence

• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
