Job Summary We are looking for Lead Tester to join our Johannesburg-based team (the way of work is hybrid). This is an initial contract position. Qualification Required: Matric Preferred Qualifications: BSc / Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience is required. Experience Required: Test Lead experience. Manual Testing experience. Telecommunications experience. Create and maintain test plans. Duties/ Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination of all Customer testing and validation activities, including planning, preparation, and coordination/booking of resources for testing. Supports the Customer team in the execution of testing/validation, including the development of test/validation scripts. Manages Customer testing activities and filters exceptions reported by the validation team to check appropriateness prior to escalation. Utilize design documents and process documents to create test scenarios. Engage with the design team to understand the testing requirements. Create test data requirements. Create and maintain Testing progress status reports. Effectively estimate testing effort. Ensuring appropriate testing tasks are scheduled during release and iteration planning. Actively collaborating with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, especially in terms of testability, consistency, and completeness. Participating proactively in daily stand-up meetings, story grooming sessions, team retrospectives, and suggesting and implementing improvements. Manage end to end Integration Testing including testing of interfaces APIs Experience in all types of Test Documentation: Test Scenarios, Test Cases, etc. Possess good Knowledge of Software Testing Levels, SDLC, Bug Life Cycle, Testing Life Cycle, and database testing procedures. Experience: Demonstrate analysis, technical and problem-solving skills using critical and innovative thinking. Demonstrate ability to work independently on multiple integration tasks with a fast-paced team and meet aggressive deadlines. Good understanding of design patterns and SOA reference architectures. Understanding of Database testing methodologies. Competencies: Collaborate with the other IT and project domain leads, Architects, and Business as a team member. Overall Technical guidance to the integrations in alignment with the data strategy and goals. Participate, Influence, and conduct meetings with colleagues, SI, and vendors to ensure effective technical delivery is on track as per project plan milestones. Participate in performance management and agree on action points. Identify and drive the data-related testing decisions required to align policies with the global solution. Ensure compliance with the company's governance, processes, and procedures. Custodian of Testing, expert knowledge, and leading practices. Facilitates and provides guidance when organizing forums. Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks: Overall leadership and guidance to the development standards in alignment with the IT strategy and goals. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Define, build, and develop the skills of the team to achieve targets. Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures. Provide clear direction for release and transition activities with cross-functional programme teams. Able to consult with the IT Technical Lead and team members.
